Frequently Asked Questions: Prof. Suni
Q: Will Prof. Suni work in a networked environment?
A: Yes. In fact, it's recommended that you install Prof. Suni only to the server,
allowing the client workstations to run the program remotely. Rather than fully
install the Prof. Suni application to the client workstations, users should browse
(to the server), create a shortcut, and place the shortcut on the client workstation.
Double-clicking the new shortcut will open and run the Prof. Suni program as if it were
installed locally.
Q: If I install the Prof. Suni software only to the server, do I need licenses
for the client workstations?
A: Yes. Each PC that runs the Prof. Suni software will require a separate license
for the software. Your Authorized Suni Partner can provide information regarding obtaining
a PAC License, in which multiple workstations are licensed and configured to run the Prof.
Suni software.
Q: Is Prof. Suni compatible with Windows XP?
A: Yes. You should update your Document Templates, though, to ensure that you can
successfully export images to Microsoft Word, when appropriate.
Q: In Prof. Suni, what's the difference between Capture Sensor and Quick Sensor?
A: the QUICK SENSOR option allows you to capture X-RAY images based on the settings
of the previous capture. Alternatively, selecting the CAPTURE SENSOR option allows you
to determine the settings and preferences for each operation.
Q: Can I use more than one intraoral sensor with Prof. Suni?
A: Yes. Prof. Suni will allow you to select and/or determine the source of the X-Ray
image (based on the USB box and the sensor) by selecting a sensor correction file, and by
selecting, when necessary, the appropriate firmware for the USB Box. This allows you to
obtain the best image quality possible, while still providing the flexibility of having
and using more than one sensor and USB box.
