FAQs

Q: I'd like to install the Prof. Suni to the Server, and avoid having to manually install it to all of the Network Client computers. Is this possible?

A: Yes. The Prof. Suni software allows you to essentially avoid having to do multiple installations in networked environments. Simply install the Prof. Suni software to the Server, and you'll be able to easily run the Prof. Suni application from any connected client, assuming you have a valid license for each computer that opens and runs the software.

Q: I would like to ensure that all of the client workstations-I'm on a network-have access to the NAME GRABBER function, even though the Prof. Suni and Name Grabber applications are only installed on the Server. Is there an answer?

A: Yes. Go to one of the client workstations, and navigate to the installation directory on the server (generally in "program files".) Run the Name Grabber.exe application file. When the application starts, you will be prompted to determine whether you'd like Name Grabber to automatically start on the current client workstation. Selecting YES ensures that Name Grabber starts when the client PC is booted.

Q: I've installed Prof. Suni to the server, but now I need to attach the Suni USB Docking Station to a networked client computer. Will I need to install additional software?

A: Yes. You'll want to ensure that any computer connected to a Suni USB Docking Station has the proper driver installed. To do this, simply insert the Prof. Suni CD into the CD-ROM drive (of the host computer), and cancel the installation of Prof. Suni, when the Installer automatically starts. Connect the USB Docking Station, and ensure that it's plugged into the Power Adapter. Your PC will recognize new hardware being installed, and prompt you to select the source of the driver file. You should choose the AUTOMATIC installation, allowing the PC to obtain the driver file from the CD that's been inserted.

Q: During the installation of the software, I get an Error Message stating the software hasn't passed WINDOWS LOGO TESTING, and that proceeding with the installation could damage my computer. What should I do?

A: This is a dialog box that appears on Windows XP-based systems when software (or drivers) are installed that haven't been formally reviewed by Microsoft Labs. You should elect to click CONTINUE ANYWAY when presented by this dialog box. Installing our software or drivers will not damage your system, or affect the performance of your computer.

Q: I can't take an X-Ray image; it seems that my sensor isn't working. What should I do to fix this?

A: Before you capture an X-Ray Image for the first time, you'll want to ensure that the Sensor(s) have the appropriate Correction file installed on the system. These files are provided in the form of a CD, and are included with the Kit for Dr. Suni and Dr. Suni Plus systems. To install the files, open the Prof. Suni software. Select TOOLS > SENSOR UTILITIES > ADD X-RAY SENSOR. Select the Sensor (from the list in the dialog box that appears,) and you will be prompted to insert the CD that corresponds to the sensor. Please ensure that the Sensor ID File number is the same on the CD as the Sensor in the list.
